The Glass Menagerie: Reason for Drama

Amanda is crazy and annoying. She is always constantly on her kids about just annoying things. She is making Laura go on the gentlemen caller dates, and Laura obviously isn't interested. I think that Laura also plays with her Glass Menagerie pieces to go in her own world, away from the drama of her mother. Amanda is also always starting arguments. She is always bossing Tom around telling him how to spend his money. When she should just back off he is the one making the money and paying all the bills. Why do you think her kids are always trying to get out. Tom is always going to the movies, and wants to leave Amanda and join the The Union of Merchant Seamen. And Laura pretended to go to college for 6 weeks. They obviously both wanted to get away from her. Just my thoughts on Amanda.
